Already we've come to the end of the first week of camp and so much has happened. The first Shabbat was amazing, as Shabbat always is a camp. After services and a great Shabbat meal was the senior staff oneg and singing and dancing of old favorites. Saturday was filled with basket ball, soft ball and volleyball house leagues and the return of cinnamon buns, the best breakfast at camp.
Saturday night was our first social, the theme was "tight and bright" a lot of people went all out in ridiculous but fun outfits, check out the website for lots of pictures.
With the our ropes course being built by Sunday the new Challenge peulah became much more interesting with all the campers excited to try it out. The last few days have played out as usual, everyone is getting back into the swing of things and trying to drink as much water as possible in the beautiful, hot weather we've been having since the campers arrived.
Wednesday morning was Haganah Day, a program that divides up the campers and staff into "families" that are trying to get to "Israel" (or from the Chairmans sports field to the Auxiliary). Everyone had a great time, but only a few families made it to "Israel" to try and keep it more realistic. That afternoon we had carnival day which included apple bobbing, face painting, prizes and a bounce castle!
Thursday was Israel day, celebrating 60 years with sectional programing about the state and delicious felafels for lunch. Right now we are getting ready for our second shabbat and all looking forward to a gibbie oneg!
